Why not just hole a pocket watch up in front of their face and hypnotize them ?

Had the C.O visit this week...went out on service and Wow
by MrsR-Awaken inthis is my first post here (not being comments) but i still have to tell my story but for that i need to get my mind together in other to give as much detail as possible to be able to share it.
will do in a future post.. anyway i had to share this.. so i went out on service this morning (i never do i always end up excusing myself because i hate field service) reason i did was to see what the new c.o had to say and he sure did say something.
he was saying what we had to present and he went over the watchtower magazine.

What are the new songs that people are talking about?

All of the new songs I've heard so far have sounded much the same and the lyrics are very preachy to the singers and listeners of the songs rather than praising or worshiping Jehovah. Full of simplistic, predictable, trite JW truisms that sound as if they are trying to convince themselves of something. They are literally preaching to the Choir.
To be blessed we must do this and that,
and we know that blah blah blah is true,
If we want to be happy all our days,
and of course we all know that we do,
if Jehovah god is our friend,
we must be loyal down to the end,
bad old Satan wants us to be sad,
and he makes us think this music is really really bad,
We're all thinking it, you know that it's true,
We keep our mouths shut cause that's what we do.

S.A.D. Observations from the assembly.
by Darkknight757 inso we had brother losch visiting our special assembly day which was weird in itself.
he's not a very good speaker and seemed like he was in dire need of a nap or something.. anyways just a few observations from the assembly program.
theme: imitate their faith.

$24,000 in expenses and no one even questions what the expenses were nor is it likely they'd know who ask, if they even dared . -

by brandnew ingoverning body members are usually people who have never held down, a real god honest job.
never payed taxes like most of us, and probably have never cooked their own meals.. im sorry.....im venting, but it burns my hyde....that they kicked so many old timers to the curb.....as they go live in luxury, in their lake-front condos in warwick.
its sick!!!.

Cant' imagine Jesus wearing a pinkie ring and I understand the Governing Body travel "first class" to their speaking engagements which is paid for by the "sweat" of the publishers with real jobs in the real world.
When I was in Bethel, the higher ups traveled to meetings in black Town Cars while the rest of us factory workers trudged through the rain and snow to the subway and risked being mugged just to get to a meeting.
This would be equivalent to Jesus riding in a "Litter" carried on the shoulders of his followers which of course we know would have never happened.

I imagine there are older JW's who have similar feelings as expressed by the characters in this little story (yes story).
I can understand the author wanting to have something exciting and newsworthy to share with us on this site and people do like to hear things that coincide with what they already believe or are hoping for. We here are not so different in that regard.
But really....11 old ladies with Wills made out to the Watchtower who decide on the spot to rewrite them, 2 Pioneers happen to resign in one Hall, a hot 30 year old sister interested in a 60+year old apostate.....Ha ! Does the author really think we are all that gullible?
Fun to read but let's call it what it is....FICTION!

Yes along with Barry Manilow and Celine Dion, but who actually still has a C.D. player in their car anymore....that's sooo 2011. Who do you think you're talkin' to here ??

The song is upbeat and catchy and I can see why people like it and I have no propblem with having fun at the meeting, the problem I have is that I spent my life being told by these same people that emulating the worlds music and dance and showing outward emotion during worship or having musical services was wrong and is drawing attention to oneself rather than to Jehovah.
This is one step away from what you'd see at a church music service or a revival meeting. I'm sure the people feel great afterward but what about all the scriptures they used in the past to prove this kind of thing was improper?
I suppose if they can decide it's ok to use blood fractions after thousands who could have been saved by them died, this change in the music is pretty minor.

People want their ears tickled with a feel good Disneyesque theme song. They're doing whatever it takes to keep butts in seats.
Hakuna Matata!
What a wonderful phrase
Hakuna Matata!
Ain't no passing craze
It means no worries for the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!

So what happens at these CU CLUX CLAM meetings? Do they wear white robes washed clean in the blood of the lamb and organize
CrossTorture Stake burnings on the front lawns of known Apostates? -
